What we send. Transactional messages about your own rental only - a confirmation when your gear is checked out, a reminder of when it is due back, a confirmation when it is checked in, and where to meet our shuttle. We never send marketing or promotional texts.

The short version

  • Program: Boise River Raft & Tube rental notifications
  • Message frequency varies. Typically 1-3 messages per rental.
  • Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for these messages; your mobile carrier may.
  • Consent is not a condition of rental. You can rent from us without giving a mobile number and without agreeing to texts.
  • To stop: reply STOP to any message. You will get one confirmation and nothing further. You may also ask any staff member to remove your number.
  • For help: reply HELP, or call 208-577-4584.
  • We do not share or sell mobile opt-in information or phone numbers to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Privacy Policy

How you opt in

There are exactly two ways, and both are optional.

1. On our online rental waiver

Our rental waiver is hosted by WaiverSign. Along with your party details you provide a contact phone number. Agreeing to receive text messages is a separate, optional choice: two checkboxes, both unchecked by default, read “Yes, text me about my rental” and “No, do not text me about my rental”. Above them the form displays:

Directly beneath the checkbox, at the point where the number is collected, the form displays:

You must actively check “Yes”. The form submits normally with both boxes empty. The form submits normally with it left empty, and your rental is unaffected either way.

2. Verbally, at our rental counter

If you rent in person without signing online, staff will ask before entering any number, and read this aloud:

"Would you like a text from Boise River Raft and Tube about your rental? We text when your gear goes out, when it is due back, and when it is checked in - about one to three messages for this rental. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP any time to opt out, or HELP for help. It is optional and does not affect your rental."

Your number is entered only if you say yes, and staff read it back to confirm. The same disclosure is posted on a placard at the counter.

Example messages

Boise River Raft & Tube: You've checked out your river gear! It's due back by 5:30 PM (3 hours). Look for our staff and bus when you exit the river. Happy ride!!! Reply STOP to opt out.
Boise River Raft & Tube: Your gear is checked in and your rental time is closed out at 5:12 PM. Thanks for floating with us! Reply STOP to opt out.
